Myanmar, Sri Lanka forge friendly ties and diplomatic relations
Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing accepts the Credentials of the Ambassador-designate of Sri Lanka.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Myanmar focused on the enhancement of cooperation in defence and development of tourism sectors between the two countries.
Ambassador-designate of Sri Lanka to Myanmar Mrs Ponnamperuma Arachige Prabashini Ponnamperuma presented her Credentials to State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at the parlour of the Credentials Hall of the Office of the Chairman of the State Administration Council in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
They discussed, in a cordial manner, the education of members of the Sangha and nuns from Myanmar in Sri Lanka, the conferring of religious titles to venerable members of the Sangha from Sri Lanka, the enhancement of bilateral trade, and cooperation in agriculture and pharmaceutical production.
Also present at the ceremony were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, and Director-General of the Protocol Department U Wunna Han.
