Myanmar and Russia to promote mutual economic cooperation in all sectors including the promotion of Russian investments in Myanmar in generating electricity and producing fertilizer, oil and chemical products.

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Mr Maxim Reshetnikov at the Credentials Hall of the Office of the SAC Chairman in Nay Pyi Taw on 23 February 2025.

At the call, they cordially discussed good relations and cooperation between Myanmar and the Russian Federation, further promotion of mutual economic cooperation in all arenas and sectors, and aid provided by the Russian Federation to Myanmar whenever the latter faced natural disasters and other necessary conditions, promotion of investments in Myanmar.
They unveiled the plans to hold talks about bilateral cooperation between the two countries, enhance investments in the private sector, and further cooperation in all economic arenas between Myanmar and Russia.

The discussions focused on arrangements to conduct research with systematic analyses for the long-term aspects of having skilled labourers and infrastructures in adopting the plans, and readiness of the Russian Federation to put investments in generating electricity and producing fertilizer, oil and chemical products which are essential for Myanmar.
