Myanmar and Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos to enhance friendly relations and cooperation (7 November 2024)

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held meetings with the Prime Ministers of Cambodia and Laos PDR separately on 7 November 2024, who will attend the summits, including the Eighth Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Cooperation Program (GMS) Summit in Kunming of the People’s Republic of China.
At the separate meetings, the Senior General met Cambodian Prime Minister Mr Hun Manet and party at the Green Lake Hotel and Prime Minister of Laos Mr Sonexay Siphandone and party at the HUALUXE Kunming Hotel. They cordially exchanged views on the enhancement of friendly relations and cooperation between Myanmar and Cambodia and Myanmar and Laos, political progress in Myanmar and current actual situations, preparations to hold a free and fair multiparty democratic general election, the best cooperation of Myanmar in ASEAN, participation of Myanmar in ASEAN meetings, needs to resolve the situations of Myanmar peacefully, plans of Cambodia and Laos to provide aid to Myanmar as much as they can, measures on friendly ties, diplomatic relations, and exchange of goodwill visits among Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos, enhancement of trade, investment, tourism, social and cultural sectors between the two countries, and promotion of cooperation in other sectors.
