Ambassador Hmway Hmway Khyne participated in the High-Level Ministerial Event “Transforming Agrifood Systems to achieve the 2030 Agenda: Harnessing the potential of Small Island Developing States, Least Developing Countries, and Landlocked Developing Countries”

On 29 June 2023, Permanent Representative to the UN Agencies for Food and Agriculture in Rome Ambassador Hmway Hmway Khyne, representing Myanmar, participated in the High-Level Ministerial Event, held at the FAO Headquarters, in Rome, Italy.
During the meeting, Ambassador Hmway Hmway Khyne discussed under the Agenda Item: Investments needed to support Achievements of the SDGs that boosting investments and the role of innovative technology in the agricultural sector are key instruments to achieving the 2030 Agenda, and transformation of the agrifood systems of the Small Island Developing Sates (SIDs), Least Developing Countries (LDCs) and Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs). The Ambassador also stressed the need for coordination of the UN, International Financial Institutions and Development Partners for development of agricultural investment funding, resources mobilization and technical support for these vulnerable countries to accelerate their actions for further success in the transformation of their agrifood systems.
