Ambassador Hmway Hmway Khyne participated in the 72nd ACR Ambassadors’ Meeting

On 12 July 2023, Ambassador Hmway Hmway Khyne participated in the 72nd Ambassadors’ Meeting of ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR) and Handover Ceremony of the Chairmanship of ACR from Viet Nam to the Philippines at the Embassy of the Philippines.
During the meeting, the Ambassador of Viet Nam in his capacity as the Chair of ACR briefed the activities carried out during his term from January to June 2023 and reported the meeting on the ongoing activities, which need to continue to be carried out during the incoming Chairmanship of the Philippines. Ambassadors and Chargés d’Affaires of ACR acknowledged, praised and thanked Viet Nam for its successful Chairmanship, and its efforts and accomplishments achieved during the last six months, which enabled to promote ASEAN Visibility, Solidarity and Centrality in the diplomatic circle in Italy.
Then the Handover Ceremony of the Chairmanship of ACR was held, where the Ambassador of the Philippines was handed over the rotating Chairmanship by the Ambassador of Viet Nam, through signing witnessed by the other Ambassadors and Chargés d’Affaires of ACR. Subsequently, the Ambassador of the Philippines proposed activities to be carried out in its capacity as the Chair of ACR, and ACR Ambassadors and Chargés d’Affaires exchanged their views on the proposed activities and offered their support.
