Myanmar Embassy in Rome hosts the books’ launch, showcasing Myanmar’s History, Culture and Current Situation
The Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Rome hosted the launch of two books, the Italian versions of “Aspects of Myanmar History and Culture” and “Myanmar in the Golden Land” at 14:30 hours on 11 November 2025 at its premises in Rome.
The Italian version of the book “Aspects of Myanmar History and Culture” by Sayargyi U Thaw Kaung, published in collaboration with Anteo Edizioni, aims to promote Myanmar’s rich culture and history to Italian readers. The book “Myanmar in the Golden Land”, created by Italian Author Associate Professor Mr. Lorenzo Maria Pacini, presents his insights and academic commentary on an overall understanding of Myanmar’s history as well as its current situation.
At the event, H.E. Daw Hmway Hmway Khyne, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the Italian Republic, delivered an opening remark and highlighted the importance of literature as a bridge fostering understanding and friendship between Myanmar and Italy. Mr. Stefano Bonilauri, publisher of Anteo Edizioni, expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to share certain aspects of Myanmar history and culture with the Italian audience. Following the opening remarks, Mr. Giulio Chinappi, translator of “Aspects of Myanmar History and Culture”, and Associate Professor Mr. Lorenzo Maria Pacini, presenter of “Myanmar in the Golden Land”, introduced the works and discussed their cultural significance.
The event was attended by the ASEAN Ambassadors, diplomats, professors, scholars, entrepreneurs, journalists, and other invited guests.
The books’ launch concluded with a photo session and networking reception, underscoring the Embassy’s ongoing commitment to strengthening cultural exchange through literature and the arts.
