The Myanmar Ambassador participated in the information exchange forum organized by the Delegation of India on the sidelines of COFI 36
Myanmar Ambassador Hmway Hmway Khyne participated in the information exchange forum on the 8th of July, organised by the Delegation of India led by Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi, Secretary of Fisheries (Vice Minister equivalent) on the sidelines of the 36th Session of the Committee on Fisheries from 8 to 12 July 2024.
The forum focuses on potential opportunities and areas of technical cooperation and capacity building in fisheries and aquaculture among the interested FAO Member States. At the forum, Ambassador Khyne stressed the importance of providing technical support to the developing countries, which includes sharing best practices, trainings, capacity building and study visits of the technicians from the fishery sector to technically more advanced Fish/Shrimp Breeding Ponds and Farming, referring to it as such collaboration and support will have a tremendous positive impact on developing their sustainable fishing practices and community resilience as well as on promoting sustainable development of fisheries and aquaculture globally.
Also present at the forum were Director of South-South and Triangular Cooperation, Ambassadors and representatives of interested FAO Member States, where they had an exchange of views on possible collaboration to move forward.
